Welcome

Welcome to Grace

Grace Episcopal Church is a vibrant, active Christian community with many opportunities for worship, prayer, study, and service. As you browse our website, you will find current information about programs sponsored by the Church, and we invite you to come and be a part of any of them. It is our hope that you will take advantage of all the Church has to offer.  If you need pastoral care or spiritual direction, please feel free to contact us.

Becoming a Member of Grace

Membership in The Episcopal Church is by baptism with water in the Name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.  If you have been baptized elsewhere and are interested in becoming a member at Grace Episcopal Church, ask the priest about transferring.  Confirmation (or reception) by a bishop is required for service on the vestry and a few other ministries.  Preparation for confirmation is provided before the bishop's annual visitation.

Our Mission

The mission of the Church is God’s mission: to restore all people to unity with God and each other in Christ. We promote this mission through our prayers and worship, proclaiming the Gospel, and through a promotion of justice, peace, and love. We carry out our mission through the ministry of all its ministers (the ministers of the Church are the laity, bishops, priests, and deacons).

—Adapted from the Catechism found on page 855 of the The Book of Common Prayer

The Five Marks of Mission

The Mission of the Church Is the Mission of Christ:

  • To proclaim the Good News of the Kingdom;
  • To teach, baptize and nurture new believers;
  • To respond to human need by loving service;
  • To seek to transform unjust structures of society, to challenge violence of every kind and to pursue peace and reconciliation;
  • To strive to safeguard the integrity of creation and sustain and renew the life of the earth.
